Tracie Jackson

Tracie Jackson (she/they) is an Interdisciplinary artist who uses footwear, beadwork, and jewelry as tools to express a deep love for their Diné culture. They are trained in Traditional Moccasin making from Diné College and in Advance Pattern Engineering from the Arsutoria Footwear School. Tracie has worked in the global Sportswear industry for Nike and N7 designing footwear and apparel. They crossed over into Canada to Manitobah Mukluks, an Indigenous footwear company, where they pushed the boundaries of what Indigenous footwear can look like. Their focus is progressing Indigenous footwear and Lo-Tek (Traditional Ecological Knowledge) methods of making.

Raised in Northern Arizona on and off the Navajo Nation, Tracie was raised by their mother, aunts, and grandparents. As a fourth-generation Diné artisan, they come from a lineage of silversmiths, rug weavers, and moccasin maker. Their elders instilled the importance of preserving traditional arts, inspiring Tracie to become a designer. Through their design work and platform, they share Indigenous stories and bring awareness to Indigenous issues.
